iOS 7 How To: Delete Messages On Your iPhone


In iOS 7, Apple changed how Messages are deleted. There is no longer the edit button inside conversations, and the swipe to delete is in a different direction. If you been puzzled about how to delete messages on your iOS 7 iPhone, here's the answers you have been looking for:


How To Delete All Messages Inside A Conversation:

A easy way to clean up your messages is to delete the whole conversation that you have had with someone. To do this all you need to do is:

1. Open Messages application.
2. On the list of messages from your different contacts, swipe across (to the left) the group of messages you want to delete.
3. A "Delete" button will show.
4. Tap "Delete". *Please note that this will delete the whole conversation that you've had inside of the message.


How To Delete Certain Messages in a Conversation:

If there is only a few messages you'd like to delete inside of a conversation:

1. Inside the message, tap on hold on one of the chat bubbles.
2. A tool box should appear. Tap "More".
3. This will check the message you selected. (If you don't want to delete this message, uncheck it.)
4. Now on the left, there are little circles, check the messages you want to delete. The ones that will be delete will appear blue with a tick inside the circle.
5. After selecting the messages you want to delete, tap the Trash can icon on the button left.
6. To get out of the edit mode, tap "Cancel" on the top right.
