To add a little personal touch to your Mac, you can display your name, or account name, in the Status bar. The option is a part of the Users and Groups settings, that allows quick switching between user accounts.
To display your Name or Account name in the OS X status bar:
1. Open 'Settings'.
2. Click 'Users and Groups'.
3. Click the 'Lock', enter your password, so you can edit settings.
4. Then click 'Login Options'.
5. Check the 'Show fast user switching menu as', on.
6. In the drop-down option box next to the option, select 'Full name' to display your full name, or 'Account name', to show the account name you set up, or 'Icon', to show only a icon.
