Samsung today (February 23, 2014), announced their next generation smart watches. Samsung has introduced two watches, the Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo.
Both new Gear watches run on the Tizen based wearable platform operating system . Feature a 1.63” Super AMOLED screen, at the resolution of 320 x 320, and run on a 1.0 GHz Dual Core Processor.
“With the Samsung Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo, we have enhanced everything consumers love about the Gear to offer unparalleled smart freedom in their everyday life.”
As for the differences between the Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo: The Neo is the lower priced counter-part, weighing less (55g vs. 68g), and does not include a camera. The camera on the Gear 2 is a 2.0 Megapixel Auto Focus (max resolution 1920x1080). They both include 512MB of RAM and a 4GB Internal Memory storage. And contain a Li-ion 300mAh battery, with a typical usage life of 2~3 days (approx). Both will be available in various colors.
The smart watches also feature new Fitness features, including; a Heart Rate sensor, Pedometer, Sleep & Stress downloadable info, and exercise modes for Running, Walking, (Standalone Modes), Cycling, and Hiking, (Companion Modes).

The new Samsung Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo will be available (around the world) sometime in April. Pricing information will be available soon.
