Stephen Colbert is the New Voice of GPS App 'Waze'

'Waze - GPS, Maps & Social Traffic' has added a new navigation voice today, and it's none other than the new Late Show host, Stephen Colbert - which new show begins on September 8th on CBS. Coincidence? Nah!

Users can download and use Stephen Colbert's voice for free - but it's only available until September 22nd.

You can download Stephen Colbert's voice inside the Waze app, all you need to do is tap the Waze button, then the settings gear, then Sound, then Voice, then choose Stephen Colbert.

-> View 'Waze' on the iTunes App Store.

City Maps 2Go - Offline Dowloadable Maps - iOS App Review

City Maps 2Go by Ulmon GmbH, offers maps for download (or offline maps). Which means there will be no data charges/ usage after downloading the maps. The device will only need the GPS that's built in, to work. This makes loading instant as there is no downloading, the maps are already there for you.

City Maps 2Go's idea is great. One small problem however; noticed anything wrong with the picture below?

Yeah, it's missing street names. A lot of the side streets are missing names.

Unfortunately it's a major problem with a map service, if the maps are incomplete or no good.

This isn't an isolated problem either, it seems to be over a lot of the different available maps, with users from all over the world complaining about missing data. But of course I'm not going to check every country so I don't know if any of them are all good.

City Maps 2Go uses Open Street Map. You can check your area and see if all the info is there, or not.

I like that you don't need an Internet connection (after downloading the needed maps). Don't like - the missing data. Maybe one day this app will be great, but not right now.

So no point in going on, maps without all the street names to me is rather pointless.

City Maps 2Go is priced at $1.99 and is available for iOS (designed for both iPhone and iPad)
