My favorite heart rate monitoring app Instant Heart Rate By Azumio, was updated recently.
The new update added some new great features including:
Tags, Trends, Pulse Waveform, StandUp test and it's now iPhone 5 Optimized.
Tags:
Tags now allow you to tag what you were doing when you took your heart rate, eg: Exercising, Post-Workout, Resting, Tired, Before Bed, ect... There is preset tags, and you can also add your own. My favorite part of the Tags is when viewing your results, Tags will also show you your averages.
Pulse Waveform:
You can now see your pulse waveform as the app is taking your heart rate and in the results.
Trends:
Trends on below is a real time heart rate map of the world. And above is your results averages. You can sort by any of your tags and see the minimum, max, or average in a bar chart that shows each day either by month or week view. While it shows a bar for each day, they seem to have forgot to add the actual average number somewhere on the chart. And filters like 'min' and 'max' are only useful if you have multiple measurements on each day.
StandUp Test:
The StandUp test is a new feature that will require purchasing (even if you already have the paid app). StandUp measures your fitness level as it guides you from a sitting to standing position. Results depend on your fatigue and hydration levels.
Great update for Instant Heart Rate and the new features make the app even better. Some people aren't happy about there being a dedicated button the a feature you need to buy on a paid app - but I don't see any problem, it's an in-app purchase, If you don't want the extra feature - don't buy it! That simple! It's not in the way. Find out more about Instant Heart Rate here or on my previous review..
Instant Heart Rate is priced at $1.99. Available for iOS (designed for iPhone). Also on Android however new features have not been added as of it. You can also try out FREE versions for Instant Heart Rate for iOS and Android.
