Gmail Tip: How To Stop An Email After You've Sent It

Have you ever sent an email that you immediately regretted, or realized you made a mistake on and wished you could undo that email? Well in Google's Gmail, you can!

Gmail has a recently new feature that allows users to add up to a 30 second buffer zone on sent emails - allowing you to stop an email from sending within that timeframe.

The first thing you'll need to do is switch this feature on:

1. Open Gmail on a desktop computer, then click the Settings Gear.
2. Then click "Settings".
3. On the "General" tab, scroll down and find "Undo Send".
4. Check "Enable Undo Send", then change the time period to your desired time, (between 5 seconds to 30 seconds).
5. After sending an email, on the yellow notification that your message has been sent, there will be an option to "Undo".

iOS Tip: How To Attach Picture To Email On iPhone & iPad

Another reason why the Apple Mail app on iOS is not as great, or at least intuitive, as it should be: Attaching a picture or video in email... Have you tried it on your iPhone or iPad? You may of one day been typing out an email, then wanted to send a picture (or media file) and thought, "Where is the attach button?" You didn't find it, because there isn't one.

So how do you send pictures in Apple Mail on iOS? Well there is two ways. One way is for when you are starting out a new message, or aren't already typing a message. And the other for when you want to add media into an existing draft or reply.

The first way to Attach Photos or Videos in Email on Apple iOS Mail:

Using the Share Button To Attach A Photo In Mail:

The more obvious way to send a photo by email is to locate the file in the Photo's App, tap the Share button (the square with arrow pointing up), then tap "Mail". This will attach the photo to a new email, where you can fill in the blanks, and send.

But what if you wanted to send more than one photo? For that, all you need to do is, locate the pictures you want to email in the gallery view in Photos. Tap the "Select" button, select the multiple photos, then tap the Share button, and then "Mail".

But what if you had already started typing the email? That's where technique two, is useful.

Copying & Pasting Photos into Mail:

The second way to attach a photo to an email is to simply copy and paste. Just locate the photo, and open it. Then press and hold on the photo, until "Copy" appears. Tap "Copy". Now go to your email that you are writing, and in the message, tap. Controls should show. Tap "Paste", and your photo will be added into the message. You can do this multiple times, however, remember that only 10MB of data can be sent in a single email, so that'd be only about two to three (8 megapixel) photos, per message.

iOS: How To Remove 'Sent From My iPhone / iPad' Email Signature

When you send a email from the Mail app on your iPhone or iPad you may of noticed that a signature "Sent from my iPhone" or if your on a iPad, "Sent from my iPad", gets added to the end of your email. I don't get why anyone would want to boast about having some device, and letting everyone know that you sent an email from it. Wow, congrats you can send an email from your phone! The only reason I can think of, to have that signature is to explain why there was so many typos, or wrong autocorrected words.

If you're like me and don't want/ or see a need to have a signature that says you sent the message from your iOS device, here's how to remove or change the signature:

How To Remove 'Sent From My iPhone / iPad' Email Signature

1. Open the Settings app.
2. Find and tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
3. Scroll down to and tap Signature.
4. Tap on the text, and remove or change to your desired signature.
5. Once done, tap the back 'Mail' button, then Settings to exit.

Is the Mailbox App Worth The Wait?... - iPhone App Review

Mailbox made by Orchestra, Inc. and recently bought by Dropbox, is a new style email app, that's getting so much attention that it places new users on a reservation list.

With a live number countdown, you can actually see your position in line.  Getting access to Mailbox after downloading the app, could be up to a weeks wait with a good 40,000+ users currently waiting.

So is Mailbox really worth the wait? ...I say, yes!

Mailbox is really useful for users who get a lot of email. Mailbox is set around the idea of getting your inbox to zero.
Using gestures, you'll in no time fly though your messages by:
- Swiping a message right to archive,
- Swipe long to the right to send a message to the trash,
- Swipe left to mark a message for later where you be asked when you want to be alerted again, either later today, this evening, tomorrow, this weekend, next week, in a month, 'someday', or chose a date.
- Or a long left swipe to add to a list.

From the main screen you have quick access with buttons on top for inbox, 'later' message, your archive and a write new message button.

There are also options to add multiple Gmail accounts and to show App Badges.
Mailbox currently will only work with Gmail accounts, and compared to Google's Gmail app, I think Mailbox has a better user interface, is quicker / loads faster, and just overall feels better to use.

Even if you use Mailbox for nothing more than just a different mail app 'skin', I'd say it's still worth it. But the best features is really the way to get to the important emails and 'move' the others out of the way.

Mailbox is a FREE app, and is available for iPhone.

New Email App 'Mailbox' Makes Users Wait In Line

New app Mailbox by Orchestra, Inc. says it will "put email in its place".

The description of Mailbox says on the app page:
"Mailbox is a completely redesigned inbox that makes email light, fast, and mobile-friendly. Quickly swipe messages to your archive or trash. Scan an entire conversation at once with chat-like organization. Snooze emails until later with the tap of a button — they’ll return to your inbox automatically so you can focus on what's important now."

If your a fan of the TV Show South Park, you know that episode where Cartman gets his own theme park but won't let anyone in, so everybody then wants to get in because they can't. And he then starts by only letting in a few people per day... That's how I feel about Mailbox.

...Well, if you're interested in getting this new email app, better get in line now I guess.
