Instashare works by using your wi-fi network. No need to use an internet connection. All you need is this app on both devices both on the same Wi-Fi network. - Program currently available for iOS and Mac OS X (with Windows and Android programs coming soon).
When the app is open on both devices - you just need to choose the file and drag it to the device you want to share the file with. The receiving device will be asked whether to accept the file - and then will copy over. Simple as that - and it's fast as it's all transferred over your Wi-Fi.
