Want to know when a certain Twitter user posts a new tweet? It's really simple to set up. And just to clarify, this will not alert you every time anyone you follow updates, that'd be really annoying! You'll only receive a notification when the people you choose, tweet.

To get a notified when a particular Twitter user updates, on your iOS device (iPhone, or iPad):

2. Tap the Settings gear button

3. Now tap Turn on notifications

4. Confirm if asked.

Periscope How To Mute Notifications From A Broadcaster You're Following

Periscope is a great live video streaming app for iOS and Android (and on the web if you're just watching), developed by Kayvon Beykpour and Joe Bernstein - and later purchased by Twitter.

On Periscope, users can stream live video to their followers, or watch the live streaming video from the people they follow. And to make sure you know when someone you follow is on - the app will send you a notification when they go live. Which is a great and handy feature.

However, maybe you don't want to know when everyone you follow is live on Periscope. Maybe they live stream a few too many times a day, or you just don't want to watch the live stream. Or whatever the reason. It doesn't necessarily matter if you don't watch live, other than not being able to comment, because videos can be watched for 24 hours after - unless the broadcaster chooses otherwise.

Thanks to a recent update to the Periscope app, you can now mute the alert when a certain broadcaster you follow, goes live.  It's really simple to do. All you need to do is go the users profile page.

1. Tap the last button on the right (the one the people), to go to the "People" section.

2. Then tap to go to your profile (the silhouette in the circle on the top right corner).

3. Tap "Following".

4. Choose the user you want to mute.

5. Then tap the bell icon with the line running through it, so it's highlighted in color. (Like in the image above).

If you ever want to un-mute that user, just tap that bell icon again so the button goes back to white.

How To Mute People's Posts From Instagram, Facebook and Twitter On App Flipboard

Sometimes's you have to follow people on social networks by obligation. Maybe they're family, work/school friends, ect... But they are annoying and you don't want to see their posts in your feeds.

If you use the app, Flipboard, which is like your very own personal digital magazine, you can mute people! If you don't use the app, i recommend you check it out. It really is awesome. It's like a digital newspaper, but with content that actually matters to you.

Muting someone will hide all their posts (when viewing in Flipboard) without having to un-follow/friend them. They'll never know that you are no longer seeing their annoying pictures or posts - that is, at least until the next time you see them and they ask why you never comment or like there stuff.

Mute works for all types of social media accounts within Flipboard, like; Facebook, Twitter, Instagram...
To hide someone's posts on Flipboard, follow these steps:

1. Find a post from the person you want to mute.
2. Next tap on their profile image.
3. Press the silhouette icon.
4. Then press 'Mute'.
5. Then confirm. And now they posts will disappear!

To un-mute someone on Flipboard:

1. Press the Red Ribbon button.
2. Then tap 'My Flipboard'.
3. Press the Settings gear button.
4. Then 'Settings'.
5. Scroll down to 'Muted Authors'.
6. There you can remove the 'mute'.

How To Track & Find Out Who Unfollowed You On Twitter Using An iOS App!

It's hard to get people to follow you on Twitter, unless you're a celebrity like Justin Bieber... One popular method is the 'follow back' system. Simply, you follow back everyone who follows you, or everyone who says they'll follow you back. But then after you are following hundreds of Twitter accounts, it's hard to find out when someone unfollows you, and therefore has got a 'free' follower.

But of course there's a app for that! Actually quite a few... and a lot of web services as well. Most of these "Track Your Twitter Unfollowers" services a really spammy, and will force you to tweet, (or will do so on their own), their spam advertisements.

The app I'll mention today that Tracks who follows you and has unfollowed, will allow you to see the info you want, without all the spam. Now, that doesn't mean this app doesn't alert you with with annoying popups asking you to tweet - but you can easily click, "No".

The app is:

Find Unfollowers On Twitter
By Apprizon LLC

This app for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad makes it easy to find out who is following, and not following you back.  Install, and allow access to the Twitter accounts you want to use.

How To Find Out Who Unfollowed Me On Twitter?

When you open Find Unfollowers, the app will refresh and will show lists of your "New followers" and "Users who unfollowed me".   Tap on a list to see more information, and either follow someone back, or unfollow someone who unfollowed you.

All this information is available in the free version of the app.

How to see who's not following me back on Twitter?

The basic free version lets you see all this information, although you may have to scroll through your following / follower list and check that the labels all right "mutual". Otherwise there is a Pro version of Find Unfollowers and in-app purchases for other premium features.

But if all you want is to see who has recently followed or unfollowed you - the free version will do fine.

Also note - this app won't work for accounts with over 70,000 followers / following.

If you found this post useful, you can thank me by following @AppsReviewed1 on Twitter! And I'll follow you back.

Find Unfollowers On Twitter is FREE to download, with a PRO version available, for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad devices.

Twitter Music App Now Live And Available For Download!

Twitter's new music app is now live and available for iOS. The web version will be available in the next few hours and the Android app is coming soon.

The Twitter #music app can help you discover new music.

Also features: Twitter Charts and ability to Follow artists.

You can listen to music via: iTunes, Rdio, or Spotify.

You can read more about the release on Twitter's Blog.

First impression for me is, "meh". It's pretty much just a "Popular" list, "Emerging" artists, a list of tweets from people you follow with the hash tag #NowPlaying and a profile page with your account and links to profiles of music artist that you follow.

Going to an artist page just tells you who (in music) they follow.

And the worst part is, on all the pages you can only hear a preview (or if you have a Spotify or Rdio account, full length tracks) of the most recent released song from that artist.

Maybe I might change my mind, but so far it's just a really over the top graphical top chart list.

Twitter Music is FREE and available on the App Store for iOS (designed for iPhone).

New Social App Vine! But Is It Lame?

A new social network! ...is the last thing anyone probably would want to hear.

New app Vine (by Vine Labs, Inc.) which is owned by Twitter is a social sharing app that let's you create short six second looping videos. Vine describes that app as "the best way to see and share life in motion".

In my opinion, Vine would fail as a video app. Six seconds is too short for a video. So this app should really be looked at as a short animation or really a stop-motion app. Vine fits in more with the GIF (animated photo) apps.

While you can get creative and create cool stop-motion videos, most people's Vine posts will basically be just six seconds of video. And would you really get anything more from that than you would in a simple picture?

The app itself, even though it's still new, seems half done, unfinished and more like a beta version. There are bugs and lack of options and settings. Finding your friends on Vine can also be a problem unless they are on Twitter. At the moment everything you post on Vine is public, you can't set you account private, so remember not to post anything you wouldn't want the whole world seeing.

I'm not sure if Vine will catch on. On one side, the six second time limit seems about right for people's attention span, and the app lets the user capture a video moment in there life. You could capture six seconds of that wild party or a beautiful scenery. However the app and the looping videos just makes you feel like you should do something creative with it. And I don't know about you, but there's only so many Vine's of food on plates and the liquid in drinks 'disappearing' I can bare to watch.

Vine is free and available for iPhone.

Have you been using Vine? Do you like it? Let me know in the comments.
