QR Code (Links to Apps Reviewed) |
Ever seen one of these images before? Maybe you saw it was on a poster of a flyer... It's called a QR Code, the abbreviation of 'Quick Response Code'. In this post I'll show you how you can make one and how to scan them by using your iPhone!
QR Codes look like these squares with a lot black little squares inside. They are similar to bar codes. They were originally designed for industrial uses, but became popular with consumer advertising.
By using your smartphone's camera, the user can scan the code with a special QR Code reading app, and it'll open up the web browser to the certain website, store or whatever the QR Code links to.
How to Create your own QR Code:
A great website that'll let you create your own free QR Codes is QRstuff.com.
You can make QR Codes that contain information for a lot of different things including:
A website URL, a YouTube video, Facebook page, Twitter page, Dropbox, Email address / message, Contact details, Skype call, Wi-Fi login (Android only), Telephone number and so on...
You can output your QR Code by: downloading an image, printing, email, or even get the code printed on something like a T-Shirt, Cup, Hat, ect...
